How to use it
Enter your pay and whether it is per month, year, week, day or hour. Then set how many hours a day and days a week you work. Every other rate appears at once, so you can compare a job offer quoted per month with one quoted per hour.
The formula
Everything goes through the yearly amount:
- yearly = monthly × 12
- weekly = yearly ÷ 52
- daily = weekly ÷ days per week
- hourly = daily ÷ hours per day
Example: ₱25,000 a month, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. ₱300,000 a year ÷ 52 = ₱5,769.23 a week. ÷ 5 = ₱1,153.85 a day. ÷ 8 = ₱144.23 an hour.
Common questions
Why is my payroll's daily rate different?
Employers in the Philippines often use a fixed "factor" of working days in a year, such as 261 (5 days a week) or 313 (6 days a week). The daily rate is then monthly × 12 ÷ factor. Using 261 days, ₱25,000 a month is ₱1,149.43 a day. This tool uses 52 weeks, which lands close to that.
Does this include overtime, allowances or 13th month pay?
No. It uses the basic pay only. The 13th month pay adds one more month's basic pay a year.
Is this before or after tax?
It uses whatever you enter. Enter gross pay for gross rates, or take-home pay for take-home rates.
